When I search my sent folder, it starts the search when my account was created instead of from my most recent. It will post them ascending to descending or vise versa, but it will still only search from the beginning of the account. And its only with my sent emails. Did I click something I shouldnt have? Also it will show todays email that have been sent if I search that parameter, but then jumps back to 2014.

The file that has your email in it stores them 1,2,3,4,5 etc in the order they are received/send. So if you were to open the file in say notepad the first email you would see would be the first one you sent. The last entry in the file would be today.

It is therefore only logical that any search will start looking for the searched item at the beginning of the file and work forwards. Working backwards would be rather silly really trying to work back until you found the start of the last email and then searching it and repeat for each email. Far better to start at the beginning, scan the first and then without having to look, start searching the second.

What appears in the interface however does not necessarily follow the order of the search, but a would assume all instances would start by offering the oldest match first.

Perhaps a rebuild of the global index would help as at times it get out of sync with reality. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/rebuilding-global-database

Tried rebuilding the global index and same results. Is there a setting that changes the search perimeters? Searching other folders gives results in the correct order so it seems like it is only a problem with my sent folder. It wouldn't be so terrible, but the sent folder has about 25000 emails to search through starting in 2014.
