Facebook scrolling stalls on 2 laptops and 1 PC with Firefox 41.0.2. I've tried refreshing Firefox, deleting plug-ins, uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, nothing seems to help. My other browser I.E. does not have this stalling problem when scrolling on Facebook. Mozilla does not seem to have a clean uninstall program and the Windows uninstaller leaves old Firefox data and registry items. So I'm currently backing up data on my main laptop and am going to reimage it from a prior clone and see if the older version of Firefox works better. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions that might help?

That depends on several things, including web traffic.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

The problem was still present with Firefox started in Firefox safe mode on my PC tower. I re-imaged the hard drive from a clone made in May on my main laptop to see if the problem exists there with an older version of Firefox, the stalled scrolling occurs even then on Facebook. I tried increasing the time scripts run before faulting, that didn't help the stalled scrolling problem in FB but the scolling is stalling on even without any script errors. I'm still working my way through the information on your links. I noted when Firefox is running on my PC it is using at least 222Mb of ram ( I have 8Gb total). I thought as an experiment I might try installing Google Chrome and see how that does, I prefer Firefox though. Since the stalled scrolling problem only occurs in Facebook, perhaps it's a new Facebook incompatibility issue with Firefox. I would be interested to see if other Firefox users are experiencing stalled scrolling when on Facebook.

For later;

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

It was somewhat smoother scrolling in Windows safe mode with networking in Facebook. As I scrolled lower down the page though the scrolling began stalling again. Facebook is the only site I'm having the problem with and it's much worse on Firefox then Internet Explorer or Chrome. I ran a Comcast speed test to check bandwidth and it said i was getting 25MB/S download speed like I should.

I can keep scrolling down my news feed without any issue. Every now and then a slight pause as new data is loaded below. I see activity on the download status indicators. When a stall happens, is it a few seconds.. a noticeable length of time?

Late last night and all of today scrolling the news feed on Facebook with Firefox browser is smoother with little noticeable stalling on 2 computers I've tried. I think Fred is right about web traffic. Either Facebook or Firefox servers are less congested now that things are running smoother. Thanks FredMcD.
