i only use the search bar becasue sometimes entering in a word in the main bar will take you to a website and not Google. so on average i just need to left click paste and go %99.9 of the time. but that bar, despite clicking turn search suggestions off. keeps coming down and covering the left click bar if a word is still there from an previews search. ether let us remove the drop-down bar, or give an option that the search bar clears itself after a search so this stops happening.

Hi, you can try the old search bar: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.search.showOneOffButtons and double click to change 'Value' from True to False, taking care not to alter anything else. You may then need to restart Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Note that you can also consider to move the search bar to the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list to move it to the right side of the window.

cor-el, there is no such option in the settings. Scribe, doing this though the config programming solves the problem for no one but me.

You can do this in customize mode and drag to search bar from the Navigation Toolbar in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list. I place the search bar at the top just below the Zoom buttons. That also leave more room for the location/address bar, so you see more of the URL.

  • "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
  • View > Toolbars > Customize

your right about the drop down bit not covering up the right click options wile in there. but that would hide the search bar, completely removing the point in having a bar right there at all.

You can either click the Firefox menu button or use the Ctrl+K keyboard shortcut to access the search bar if the search bar is in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down.
