I have a Galaxy S4 running android 4.4.2. Under account next to Firefox Sync it has (deprecated) next to it. What does this mean?

There are two incompatible sync protocols, Firefox Sync (Deprecated) is v1.1 of the protocol, the Firefox account is version 1.5 of the protocol.
