can't see bookmarks

with add on's disabled my bookmarks list are visible but when in normal mode they blackout when l scroll thru them and firefox is slow on start up

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
