Whenever the Downloads window is open, the browser becomes unusable. It just FREEZES. As soon as I close the Downloads window, Firefox instantly snaps back. I have teinkered around in about:config, but it did nothing. Reinstalling has done nothing.
I am running Windows 7 Professional x64 Processor: Athlon II 620 x4 (Quad-Core @ 2.6ghz) Ram: 4GB Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8400GS, distributed though PNY.

Did you restart FireFox after making changes to the about:config page? As well as check the about:config again to make sure Updating to FF10 did not reset/change any previous altered settings?

In about:config
- set "browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone" to false
- set "browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete" to false

Hey there iMarshmellow. I'm sorry to say that I've already tried that, with no success. Also, the update to 10.0 has not changed anything.

Thanks iMarshmellow. The installation FF10 reverted my customizations for some odd reason. It seems to work alright now.
