How do I recover my list of bookmarks following hard disk reformatting and re-installation? Data files were saved and copied back.

I was obliged to re-format my hard disk. Data files were saved and copied back but I have had to re-install applications, including Firefox. I now have a new embryo list of bookmarks. How can I recover my extensive old list?

Many thanks for the link. I have been unable so far to locate my old profile folder and I think it wasn't saved with other data files before my hard disk was reformatted. But thanks for your effort anyway. Let's hope I have better luck with thunderbird files!

"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders, so make sure that you can see hidden folder.

If you haven't included the hidden C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data folder in the backup then both Firefox and Thunderbird profiles are gone.
