a plug in called verizon service point just showed up in my plug ins. Do I need it? What does it do?

Verizon just updated/changed their internet security suite to McAfee, and the plug in showed up after it installed. Firefox is now running very slow.

It can be an anti-virus component which scans every page you visit for malware before it is loaded, making the browsing slower.

An option on whether to do it can be present in the antivirus itself.
