Thunderbird Not Sending Email
Our internet had an outage and afterwards we can not send email in either Thunderbird Accounts that we have. I get the following message. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: < [edited] @charter.net> sender rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

My first thought would be to reboot PC. My second thought would be to reset settings in SMTP server.
Hi David - I try a reboot. No idea how to or what to reset the SMPT Server to. Can you tell me? Dan
My expectation is that the reboot itself will fix this, since your PC was not affected. My thought on the smtp server setting is that you may need to enter again to ensure there are no errors in the setup. OR.... if the internet outage you mention was a problem with Charter, then their server may not have your email set up. That's my likely thought. The smtp setting was if all else failed. This problem occurred outside your world, so rebooting - or contacting Charter should work. You might try logging in online. That would confirm whether there is a problem with your email account.
Hi David the reboot didn't help. I did log into my charter email and was able to send and receive. I still can receive with Thunderbird but can't send. I have no idea what my smtp setting is.
Dan
I did a quick look and it appears that SMTP settings are: smtp.charter.net, port 587, SSL
I was able to get in and change the outgoing to these setting but still no luck getting the emails to send.
You might post the explicit error, plus a screenshot of the SMTP server settings. You might also contact Charter, since they were involved in that internet outage.
