Hi daneandnori, does this occur only when you use a desktop shortcut to first launch Firefox, or every time you launch a new window (after closing the console, but not the main window)?

If it's every time you launch a new window:

Your home page setting might have become corrupted in some way. Could you check it?

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the first section, the home page box will contain one or more URLs separated by vertical bar ("|") characters. Anything strange here?

Hi, great way to start a new version.

Please go to 3 Bar Menu then Add-ons --> at page top Click the Gear Icon and try to up date all add-ons if successful restart browser as it may be the Newtab or Theme/Font that is not working properly. Also try to disable them and restart Firefox to check.

If not : Please try this 7min fix : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 58.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Browser Console Ctrl + Shift + J

The keyboard shortcut for Browser console. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly

Pk the current Release is Fx 59.0 as of today and doing a uninstall and reinstall is not the magic fix all you think it is.

Thanks to Pkshadow. I did the update addons and even though nothing updated it worked. I'm keeping a copy of your advice since the next thing I was about to do was a clean reinstall.
