Firefox 54 install hangs completely on latest Win10 creator's
Upgrading from 53.0.3 to 54.0 on latest Win10 with creator's update. Using the About Firefox dialog; also tried the full installer. It says installing update, progress bar goes to about 25% and then locks up solid. This also corrupts the Firefox directory so badly that Firefox won't start anymore, gives error about problems with dll's. Have to remove Firefox directory and restore from backup to 53.0.3. No other version of Firefox will install either after this. What a mess. Ideas?

Ok thanks, it wasn't the full installer, I had tried that. But from your reply I tried turning off Windows Defender, and that worked. So Windows Defender completely blocks some or all Firefox installers now in Win10! :(
