Is there a way to prevent a bookmark folder from auto closing after each new tab? I use Firefox a lot with my job and have several groups of bookmarks that I always open up together, is there a setting in about:config that would prevent a folder from auto-closing when opening multiple tabs?

I don't think that you can make Firefox prevent the bookmark menu from closing, but perhaps there is Firefox addon that can do that.

In your situation, you may want to consider using the bookmarks sidebar. You toggle it by pressing Crtl + </code>B</code> and it will remain in the same location when opening multiple bookmarks.

You can find some more information on the sidebar in this Mozilla support article:

As Wesley mentioned, the Bookmarks Sidebar will remain open until you close it.

From the Bookmarks menu on the toolbar, you can {Middle-click} on a folder and have all the bookmarks that are in that folder open in new Tabs.

The System Detail list next to the question shows that you run an older Firefox 44.0.2 version that is no longer supported with security updates. Always update Firefox and Add-ons to the latest versions to get all security fixes.

Please update to the current Firefox 45.0.1 release.
