I deleted folders and it went to Trash. I emptied Trash and the folders are removed. When I restart thunderbird the deleted folders reappear in Trash. I am using IMAP and this do no reflect in my mail server. This is so annoying. Please help

What process did you use? Did you unsubscribe from seeing the folder before deleting? Has the folder been deleted off server?

Try this: make hidden files and folders visible:

In thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information

  • click on 'Show folder'

a new window opens showing the contents of your profile folder name.

  • Close Thunderbird now - this is important
  • click on 'ImapMail' folder
  • click on mail account name
  • Look for and delete: Trash and Trash.msf files

Start Thunderbird. Report back on results.
