As above, along with the update to 33.0.2 you added an unwanted google toolbar. How do I delete this and how do I make sure that you don't do it again?

Thanks

Hello,

If you downloaded Firefox from the official Mozilla website, it should not be shipping with any extra toolbars. The default search engine used by Firefox is Google but you have the options of changing it, please see the article Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox.

If you did not download your latest update from one of the following links:

You may want to uninstall Firefox from your Control Panel > Programs and Features, and delete the folder:

  • (for 64 bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
  • (for 32 bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

And reinstall Firefox from one of those two links above.

For more information on uninstalling toolbars, please see:

You sure you are not mistaking the Search Bar?. By default it has the Google search engine selected. You can delete this search engine or even remove the Search Bar off toolbar. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-bar-add-change-manage-search-engines-firefox

Google has not supported their Google Toolbar extension for Firefox since Firefox 4.0 and Mozilla does not provide one in Firefox.
