After updating to F 7.0.1 all add on's failed to load. I urgently need Reminderfox so I downloaded Compatibility Reporter which said most (other than Java) were incompatible. I had to uninstall 7.0.1 and go back to 6.0.2 but after opening FF I found that none of the add on's worked. I tried to re-initialize the plugin database by deleting the pluginreg.dat file. Still no joy they all say 'compatibility problems I need to open Reminderfox ASAP (and others)

I have good protection on computer to go back to older version if I can get the add ons working to access data :) Thanx

Hi finitarry, Thanx for the link, though sadly I found it confusing and would appreciate a little most guidance, ie if you mean they are not compatible, I have already found this out with compatibility reporter but I don't know where to go on from there.

I am also a newbie at this and I find some of the jargon a little too techy, this link is written for someone with more IT understanding than I have. Any further assistance really appreciated :)

pluginreg.dat is for plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)

For extensions you need to delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

Thanx cor-el, really helpful, Ill give it a go :)

Thanx cor-el, this worked to some extent, it fixed some of the add ons. several are still not working. Would this mean that they simply need to be updated or could there be some other issue that I am overlooking?

I am still running FF6.0.2 and am uncomfortable upgrading yet until the Reminderfox, and Foxcloxs is working.

I went to the root of reminderfox and clicked on a file and it opened in Outlook so I managed to get into my diary (thank fully)

The issue now is that anything that attaches to the bottom of the FF window is not working but the upper extensions are, any thoughts?

cheers
