Cannot change text colour :(
Hi,
I've just downloaded Thunderbird 91.0.3 (64-bit) onto Catalina 10.15.7 and I cannot find a way to change the colour of the text ie while I'm typing I want to type something in red, I go to the chose text colour, choose red press OK and just stays black???
I cannot believe this does not work, it opens the colour picker window, I can select crayons or whatever but whatever colour I choose it makes no difference??
What am I missing, I've tried checking all the settings and nothing makes any difference?
Thank you in advance

I eventually got to the end of that thread as most was not relevant as the version I'm using does not have those settings. But eventually its as simple as once you have chosen the colour in the colour picker, CLOSE the colour picker window before you press ok and hey presto it works!
It's seems stupidly simple when you know, but when you are used the colour picker staying open with other apps, its just not something that is obvious!
Thank you and I hope this helps others before trying to find another email client and coming back because they are all trash, in total and utter frustration!

The issue of font colors on Macs has been raised many times, and it seems to depend on the order of closing the TB color picker and the OS X color picker:
