I'm getting a PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR when trying to visit a site I've gone to scads of times and strongly believe to be valid today.

Is there any sort of workaround that would allow me to get to this site?

(And, BTW, why does Firefox absurdly tell me to inform the web site about this error when the error prevents me from getting to the web site?)

I haven't done as much work on this problem as I had hoped. I did find I could get to the article I wanted by deleting every thing after the domain.com but that is not all that has to change. In addition you also have the email preceding the domain too, www so that seems to be the problem, ounce that is done the web site can be navigated. Why or by what the email is placed ahead of the domain I have no idea. IMO it could be a web site problem or Firefox.

I just found another link with problems and I get the same error;

https://www.powerprobe.com › manuals

I got this from google and thought the URL construction was strange it takes TLS about a minute or more to come up with the error. I tried eliminating manuals that didn't work. then manually entered www.powerprobe.com and that didn't work.

Hi lgriffin, Google changed the results page so it's more difficult to copy the full URL from there. What is the URL that Firefox gets stuck on? That should be in the address bar of the tab.

This is the full link from google there is also little caret on the end signifying it is cached(?). I tried working back on the URL by eliminating the manuals but still got the same error. TLS seems to have some difficulty with these links takes forever to decide they are bad.

https://www.powerprobe.com › manuals

I've been a little slow on this problem since I understand Gnome on Ubuntu 19.10 LTS is suppose to improve performance and fix some bugs.

My last reply didn't go well and I'm glad you did get something.

Google results links behave differently depending on whether you are logged in, and perhaps other settings. When I am not logged in, and I try to follow a link to

https://www.powerprobe.com/manuals

a script in the results page modifies it to go through outbound tracking:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjEjOqe1NjlAhXZHzQIHfwmBCYQFjAAegQIAhAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.powerprobe.com%2Fmanuals&usg=AOvVaw1v2W0xMFIP-03n9cvwLiBR

Then Google sends Firefox a redirect to the real URL. Is yours doing that?

First I have 3 email accounts setup in Thunderbird 2 of which are hughesnet and one is gmail so I would those are keeping me logged in(?).

second being logged in doesn't account for the seeking alpha links failing.

I selected my gmail account in thunderbird then went to google and brought up the powerprobe again and it worked but I didn't see the redirect. The Seeking Alpha link comes in on a hughesnet account I've forwarded to my gmail account but it hasn't showed up yet. want to get this sent before another snafu

Yes, let's not mix the two scenarios:

Scenario #1: Some links in emails in Thunderbird do not open successfully in Firefox. Based on the address, they seem to be tracking links. Any others?

Scenario #2: Some links in Google results (in Firefox presumably) do not open.

I just had this error pop up too... on a site I've been to dozens of times using FireFox, but today I installed a new modem. So how do I change settings so that this website will load?

Thanks!
