I've been noticing lately that when I play a game on Facebook and I'm done, when I click the Facebook icon to go back to my main feed, it won't. I'll see the screen but nothing shows up. When I look at the tab I'll see that it's attempting to load but that's all it does. If I have more than one tab open, and I click to close Firefox, I'll get the popup confirming I want to close all tabs. When I click on cancel, the page will show the main feed. I've disabled add ons and restarted Firefox and still have the same issue. I've checked my cookie settings and Facebook is one of the exceptions to be blocked. Add ons are all up to date and Firefox is as well. I still seem to get the same issue. I've tried Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and don't have the problem.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case Content Blocking is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console about what content is blocked

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

I've tried the refresh of Firefox and that didn't seem to work. I don't really have much for extensions except for You Tube Download Plus. As for Plugins it's just Open Video H264 Codec add on, Widevide Content Description and Shockwave Flash. I don't run any themes on it. I'm going to try unchecking the run at recommended performance settings and see if that works. I do notice it seems to happen only on my desktop which is a Dell. On my Toshiba laptop I don't really recall it happening.

Okay I've tried unchecking using the recommended performance settings and I've tried running Firefox in Safe Mode. Even in Safe Mode it does the same thing.
