Firefox 58 shortcut icon is invisible on a black desktop. How do I make old orange icon the default?

When we upgraded to 58, the Firefox shortcuts icon throughout Win7 changed to a smaller orange fox with large black background. Very difficult to see on our black desktops and backgrounds. We would like to get the old icon back without having to go through and manually change hundreds of shortcuts. thank you.

ditto on a dark desktop. I've searched and can't find this - only saw one page for old Firefox 2.0 and the issue wasn't resolved. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=564801

If I understand, it says Firefox will determine default browser by the icons that are chosen. I can easily change one desktop icon to one that is in the 6 choices (is easy to see), but not all of them.

Other than this, V58 is excellent.

Who in Sam Hill was the idiot that decided on this change? Jeepers, Firefox people, you are getting like Microsoft people, change things without giving users options!

Granted a web shortcut on desktop can be changed, but a shortcut to a bit of HTML on my computer can't be changed from your UGLY BLACK BACKGROUND.

Get a fix out for this, like now!

I take back what I said about V58 being excellent. It's faster when starting, but after having many pages opened for a while, they'd white out and had to reload - it also started using a lot of memory (again after being open for hours with maybe 10 pages) - have to add up multiple processes, maybe used 70% of memory (old Firefox under same conditions would use much memory but pages didn't white out). Having an old Dell D630 T8300 with 4GB may have something to do with this.

I downgraded to v56 and the black icons still showed. I made IE as default browser which changed desktop icons to those for IE, then changed back to FF as default and the old white FF icons came back.
