I have set a download folder but every time I fire up firefox it defaults to saving in the standard download folder (e.g. user/downloads) even though it still has my desired folder stored as the required destination. Once I have saved a file to a destination it keeps that destination until it is fired up again

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

I will try this a little later but I suspect it won't help, the thing is the change I make is saved and does not change, firefox just ignores my setting
