Phillip, I appreciate your wanting to help; and I thank you. But just this morning I reinstalled Firefox to its newest release, which was the version I'd had already. Should not this unresolved problem, which is being talked about all over the Web, have resolved itself via the new installation?

"Resetting" involves discarding all manner of options which take a lot of time to find and reinstall; and they're all from the Mozilla Web site to begin with. So if they're defective why did Mozilla put them on its site in the first place?

Supposedly, technical data regarding my browser was sent along with my initial question; so shouldn't that process have pinpointed any problem areas? If not, what's it for? Being asked to throw the baby out with the bathwater isn't a very customer-friendly approach to this problem.

I did plenty of Web searching, including on the Mozilla site, prior to posting here; and Firefox's PBS-video incompatibility is no nearer being fixed than it was back in June. I'll just use other, working, browsers to view audio-visual files until such time as Mozilla decides to fix its Firefox problem.

Your already-demonstrated courtesy and understanding are greatly appreciated! Let's hope Mozilla's executives adopt a similar attitude and take more of an interest in this incompatibility problem than they have so far.

hello Flyvåpnet, this is not a problem caused by firefox but one of your customizations, which prohibits the loading of necessary content for the video-player to work. i think it is caused by the https-everywhere extension (but you also have other addons that might be involved in blocking content), in addition i would remove the fasterfox addon and reset all network entries in about:config it has tweaked, because it can do more harm than good.

Thank you very much, Philipp, for your valuable suggestions. It's fixed! Yay! Your advice to disable HTTPS-Everywhere 4.0.1 was right on target. It's a pity, of course, because HTTPS is the best way to go. But the bottom line is customer satisfaction; and inadvertently blocking audio-visual presentations by the Public Broadcasting Service is definitely not satisfactory. So, thanks again! :o)

i tested it and the videos will play once you disable the rule for "amazon web services" within https-everywhere - then you can keep the extension enabled for other sites...

Philipp, I did as you suggested tweak-wise within HTTPS-Everywhere 4.0.1 ("Amazon Web Services") and all is well! Thanks again for your help! :o)
