Do you really expect Kaspersky users across the globe to sacrifice their add ons in order to update to v.30 which fails to support them?

You shouldn't. I'd switch to another browser before I'd give up the protections of those Kaspersky add-ons.

Which Kaspersky product do you run, and what do the add-ons do?

Those extensions most likely specify that they are not to be run with versions of Firefox higher than 29. While Firefox is designed to ignore that in most cases, it is honored when the extension specifies that strict compatibility is required or if the extension contain binary compiled components. I don't know whether there is any workaround for that.

It is unfortunate that Kaspersky doesn't update its extensions closer to Firefox release, but each vendor has its own strategy. They usually get around to it eventually.

From the perspective of protecting yourself online, you can evaluate the security flaws that were fixed in Firefox 30 and balance that against the missing features. https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html

It is Mozilla's job to find out what add-ons it is defeating in its so-called 'upgrades.' They are the primary security features, keyboard and reserved secure browser window add-ons.

Yes, Kaspersky may 'get around to it eventually,' and I may, or more likely will not get around to v.30 or any other which defeats Kaspersky so recklessly. Like, are you kidding? Mozilla is a security joke compared to AV producers. You should be taking extreme care not to defeat ANY major AV add-ons, while what the hell should they care about your pissy little upgrade? I'll just switch browsers, and good riddance!

The Firefox updates are not defeating the Extensions, it is that they were only marked compatible with up to a particular version at the time by the author.

Unlike with most extensions, the ones provided by say antivurus clients and such needs to be updated for each new major Firefox version .exe

If Norton can do this in having updates for their toolbar extension ready within a day of Release since Firefox 5.0 then other companies can to.

Hogwash. Mozilla has a RESPONSIBILITY not to break Anti-Virus software BEFORE it releases its poison unto the world.

Do you remember Netscape 6 ??? when your so-called 'update' broke half the web sites in existence in the entire world? I was teaching at the time and personally saw to the removal of Mozilla's Netscape 6 from every single computer in the college (hundreds of them) as MALWARE! That's what I call your v.30 -- MALWARE !!! What else do you call a ware that breaks down security and leaves the user vulnerable to every kind of virus??

Duh. Did it ever occur to you the reason Kaspersky can't fix what you have broken in a day is because its add-ons are more complex, more thorough, and more protective?? Have you even communicated with them about this? Oh, no, you just do whatever the hell you please and damn the hundreds of thousands if not millions who use Kaspersky.

The word RESPONSIBILITY is obviously not in Mozilla's vocabulary.

You are entitled to your opinions about that, but please try not to be so rude to the contributors here. We're all volunteers and don't work for Mozilla; merely users helping other Firefox users.

Ah, great. So Mozilla's "Support" is phony too. And here I thought I was communicating with someone who could at least escalate the problem to the people in charge at Mozilla. Obviously, they have hidden themselves from the public after committing their crimes, just as with Netscape 6.

If you want to help Firefox users, post a means of communicating directly with the criminal executives at Mozilla who are foisting their MALWARE upon the world this time. Do they have an email address? A physical address? Honestly, they should get mugged in the street for the mugging they are perpetrating on Firefox users.

Otherwise, admit you are their shill and then shut up.

You can use this page - https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback - to provide feedback to Mozilla. Otherwise we're done here.

Any application that provides Firefox extensions that ties in with the application on Windows needs to be updated to work with the new Major firefox .exe version. This is nothing new.

Again your separate Kaspersky software should still work normally regardless of what Firefox version Is installed on Windows.

Oh and I did not lock this as it was Eds call as you can see above.
