Why do my gouped tabs disappear after EVERY time I close FireFox?

I set up group tabs, and EVERY time I reopen Firefox - the Tab Groups are gone - with only the last tab or no tab open. This occurs even if there has not been a Firefox update. I thought this was going to be a great new way to use my tabs, but it is only a pain. Initially I had set up the browser to open with specified TABS, now I don't even know if that will work if I go back to that option instead of the group tabs. The last update was September 6, but this tab group deletion has continued since that time.

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

I haven't cleared recent history. This response does not help.

Does Firefox create a new file sessionstore.js in the Firefox Profile Folder?

It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting, that is usually a more reliable way to restore session data.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application and make sure that Session is not selected.
