I keep getting this message for every email I try to send out and they don't contain Spam but I'm blocked from sending out emails.

Sending of message failed

'An error occurred while sending the mail. The mail server responded: [VO-1]. Message blocked due to spam congtent in the message. Please check the message and try again. I get this with every message I try to send out even if it only contains one word like "Test."

How do I fix this?

Hello

this message is sent from your server. It's the responsability of the server admin (probably your ISP) to explain what is happening. Ask them first.

I checked with my ISP, Pioneer Telephone/Internet and they said it was a problem with my Mozilla Thunderbird.

I Googled this error message and got a solution that suggested I reconfigure my Emix Configuration Manager. I'm sorry, I don't know where to find that to try their solution.

I have absolutely no idea of what is Emix so I can't help you here.

Is this error message happening when you hit 'Send' (or a few seconds after), or is the message actually sent, but you are receiving a few minutes later a follow-up mail containing this error ? If it's the latter, post the content of the received mail.

No sir, it is not sending ANY emails. Thunderbird continues to receive emails but the last email it sent out was at 11:27 , November 17th and it stopped sending any after that.

When I click on "Send" in T-Bird, the small window comes up that says "Sending Message" and shows the progress bar going from left to right until it reaches 100%, then that goes away and the error message pops up and the email is not sent.

Let me ask you this. I pay Pioneer Telephone to use my pldi email address (xxxxxxxxxx@pldi.net) but I use Chisholm Networks locally as my internet service, so is my ISP Pioneer or Chisholm? When I called Pioneer they couldn't help me. So should I call Chisholm? My internet is working on my Smart TV so I didn't think it was them.

I can go to Pioneer's website and send emails from there and they show up as "Sent" in my Thunderbird program. The problem with using this method is not all of my Contacts are not on the website and I have to look them up and manually type them in.

I don't know if I answered your question or not.

I think you answered my question. The dual ISP business feels clear as mud, though. Can you try something: restart Thunderbird in troubleshooting mode (Help menu), create a new mail to any person you want, set the object to 'test' then (while still creating it) use Options and select Sending format / Only plain text. Remove any signature or attachment if any, and enter some text for the message body (select this post for example). Click send. Do you have still the error message ?

if no, there is really something strange going on in your usual mails. To be examined further if this is the case. I don't really believe it but it has to be checked.

if yes, can you turn on debugging for smtp like this: go to Thunderbird advanced configuration, set mailnews.smtp.loglevel to 'All' in the config editor (Settings / General), do not forget to validate by clicking the checkmark, and open Tools / Developer Tools / Error console, try to send a mail then copy / paste the changes that appeared in the Error console in a new post on this forum. If necessary, hide personal information by pasting first in an editor (try to not mangle the rest).

Thank you very much for this information. I will certainly try everything you mentioned but it may be tomorrow before I have the time to devote to it since I have a couple of commitments today.

Is there anything in email message, such as a sig file from an antivirus program? This has cause similar problems in the past. You need to review everything that appears in message, not just your text.

Thank you for your patience in dealing with this for me.

I don't know what a sig file is. I use the new Avast One free version of an antivirus program and now that I think about it, that is about the same time this problem started. I've used Avast for years and all of a sudden it quit working and when I would go to the list of programs by clicking on the Windows logo and selecting Avast Antivirus it wouldn't load and would say something about UI that didn't load or something like that.

When I tried to download their new Avast One it would say I had an Avast program on my computer and I needed to uninstall it before I could download and install Avast One. I opened Control Panel> Programs and Features and looked in the list of programs on my computer and Avast wasn't listed. I went back to the Windows logo, opened the list of programs and right clicked on Avast Antivirus and selected "Uninstall" and was finally able to get it off of my computer. I then was able to install Avast One.

I just sent myself an email from Thunderbird with only "TEST" in the Subject line and no text or anything in the body of the email (blank) and it sent it out. So I did that again, only I added "TEST" in the body of the email and it sent it also. It just doesn't send emails with sentences and paragraphs, no matter what the content is. I can reply to an email and only type one sentence and it won't send it because it thinks it contains Spam.

Please tell me more about a sig file so I can try to find that in the body of an email.

Thank you in advance.

Sigs are those little 'advertisements' that antivirus programs sneak into messages. You might look in your Sent folder to see if any text appears that is not from you. I know nothing of Avast, but I see it mentioned frequently on this forum when people are having trouble with Thunderbird. I don't want to imply any flaw there, but it may be that Avast needs an adjustment to avoid interfering with Thunderbird updates. What happens when you attempt to send a message? Any error messages? And is there anything in your Sent folder? Have you tried sending messages when Avast is not running? Important that you try that.

I opened up my new Avast One program, found "Email Protection" checked, unchecked it, opened T-Bird, composed an email and it sent it right out. I think the problem is solved.

Thank all of you for your help on this. I use email everyday to inform many, many people of luncheons and dinners I'm having and I MUST have my email program working at all times.
