I use firefox with 2 different profiles and choose which profile at firefox opening. One profile is local, one profile is distant on my NAS. When I use my NAS profile, if I save a bookmark, it is not saved. When I use my local profile, bookmarks are stored correctly. My NAS profile seems to be OK because I see all the bookmarks I had saved previously in my profile. It is just that I cannot save any new bookmarks. This started to happen after a re-installation of my Xubuntu 14.04 system.

Hello I found the problem. When I created my firefox profile under LINUX, I used the NAS folder created by my windows workstation, with all the bookmarks. Somehow Firefox LINUX did not like this folder. I created a new NAS profile for LINUX ans imported my bookmarks from The NAS profile created under windows, ans now it works. Sorry for posting before I had worked enough.
