I can't download Widevine Media Optimizer. There's a message saying that Firefox is blocking google.tools.com from doing the download.
The site from which I'd like to watch movies is saying that it requires the Widevine Media Optimizer browser plugin. I hit the plugin button, and a window from Google Widevine pops up. It says to install the plugin, and specifically states that Firefox is a supported browser.
I hit to install, then a box comes up that says "Firefox prevented this site (tools.google.com) from asking you to install software on your computer." When I hit "Allow", there's a box showing the plugin installing but then another box pops up and says "This add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on tools.google.com."
How do I get around this issue so that I can download the Optimizer? Help!!

I can't seem to get this to reproduce. I've installed it successfully on Firefox 29.0. and Firefox 30. Since it seems like you just want to download that plugin (no matter what way) you should use the link below to see if it goes through.

Hi Moses,
Thanks for your suggestion. However, I've already been to that site. When I hit the Firefox button, it brings up the same boxes as listed in my original post. I can't see what I'm doing wrong but if you've been able to download WideVine in Firefox 29.0 (which is what I have), I must be missing something.
I've created a Dropbox link for you. Once you download, all you have to do is drag the icon into your Firefox window.
EDIT: The file is safe. I would never be trusted if I uploaded a malicious file to a user. Also, I'm a Moderator. Even worse :)

I am having the same issue and have also tried to download from the http://www.widevine.com/download/videooptimizer/index.html. I would love to try downloading it from the dropbox link, but that link is not working at this time.
misselaine,
Sorry about that! I reorganized my Dropbox. Uploaded. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g7vhsuegi7e1ssm/WidevineMediaOptimizer_win.xpi
