firefox will not let me contect to anything in the first inch of the page.
If I use Firefox, I can not connect to any item in the top inch of the page. But if I just connect to the internet with internet explorer, I have no problem and can connect to anything on the page. Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
