While online I got a pop-up supposedly from Firefox saying the following: 'Warning! Your computer is at risk of malware attacks.' It also included the following link: at http: //www2 .safeonly-scanner .in WAS this actually from Firefox?
I was supposed to click the link which I did NOT do as I'm very suspicious. I don't really know what this 'warning' meant and want to know if it was actually FROM Firefox or simply an attempt at getting me to click on it. Here what the entire pop-up said (brackets added by me):
[The page at http ://www2. safeonly-scanner. in says:
Warning! Your computer is at risk of malware attacks. We recomment you to check your system immediately. Press OK to start the process now…]
Edited to disable the link - Tony

That was a fake scanner. Firefox doesn't have any AV services.

This will not be from Mozilla, I would treat that as very suspicious and would not go to the site. It is almost certainly a false alert trying to get you to install malware.
Thanks edmeister. I inadvertently clicked on it in my email scanner just today.... YIKES! Fortunately it was blocked and didn't connect me though..WHEW.
I really thought it was phony but wanted someone to verify it.
So thanks again.
TonyE... it was indeed 'suspicious' and I restrained myself (well, except for what I just posted to the-edmeister in my 1st reply). ;o)
Thanks for taking time to respond!
