I have been a problem with Firefox not loading images from one specific site. Here is an example: https://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_mcdetail.aspx?Id=65966. When I click on the 'View the record image' link at the top of the page, I get no image. I have tried numerous settings and nothing works. Images display fine using MS Edge but I prefer Firefox if I can get it to work. Firefox used to work just fine. I have even created new user profiles numerous times. When a new user profile is created, the images load and display correctly. However, just about any change to the default profile causes the images to fail to load. Even something as simple as changing the home page causes the failure to load when absolutely nothing else has been changed in the default user profile. Any suggestions??

Using Firefox v54 (my default) I had no problem. When I used the current Firefox, I had no image.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

This solved nothing. I had already tried Troubleshoot (Safe) Mode, which did not change anything. I am not blocking any content. As I stated before, I even created new user profiles using the default Firefox settings. They would work temporarily until I would make a change to the new profile by changing the home page, adding an extension, changing the theme, importing logins, importing bookmarks, etc. As soon as even one minor change was made, the images would quit loading. Reversing the change would not make any difference and the images would still not load.

I solved my problem. I downgraded to Firefox 88.0.1 and now everything works great, just like it used to. It seems like every time Firefox gets an 'update', something gets broken. I wish they would just leave it alone.

This specific image needs to be loaded via HTTP, so it fails if you force a secure HTTPS connection. Works:

As stated earlier, I created NEW user profiles using default Firefox settings many times. Each time the default setting of "Don't enable HTTS-only mode" was used and every time the new user profile would function properly and display the images. However, EVERY time that ANY simple change was made in the user profile, the images would then fail to display. Also, as stated earlier, those changes to the new profile were things as simple as changing the home page, adding an extension, changing the theme, importing logins, importing bookmarks, etc. As soon as even ONE of these minor change was made, the images would quit loading. Reversing the change would not make any difference and the images would still not load. The only way I could get the images to consistently display properly was to create a new user profile and to use Firefox 92 AS IS and make NO CHANGES to the profile, which is totally unacceptable. The ONLY thing that finally worked for me was to go back to Firefox 88.0.1.
