Firefox 61.0.2 uses up all my available RAM on some web pages. I have 32GB on a Win10 pc running on an i7-7700k cpu and 6GB on an older pc running Win7 on a quad core AMD cpu. This page uses up all the ram on both computers as well as several virtual machines running under both Virtual Box and vmWare.

This same page also uses all the memory on a Linux vmWare guest running Mint 18.3; Firefox ver 61.0.1.

This ram issue is not new to ver 61.0.2.

I've tried all the recommended solutions on the support page but none help at all.

Due to this Firefox is really not for the most part usable.

Hi, I guess it would running outdated Word Press version.

As well as the Errors in the HTML which was stopped scanning by fatal errors https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=https%3A%2F%2Ffansided.com%2F2018%2F08%2F27%2Fnylon-calculus-carmelo-transition-rockets%2F

So what is it you would like to do. Site is using outdated code that is a Security risk. ??

Your older system should be running Extended Version 60.01esr : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Oh my! I should not have clicked on that link. I was curious, but WOW! That hideous site shot my CPU to the ceiling and pegged my 8GB memory to the max! I've never seen that before. The browser was in a frozen state. I unplugged my router cables to just recover, but then FF crashed.

Where's the 'InterNet Police'? That site should be taken down!

I use NoScript, and allowed just a few script sources. Very little activity on the page. So it must be one of the third party scripts that triggers the runaway memory use, but finding out which one and why could be a big project, as you can see from the list in the attached screenshot, which inevitably will grow as more domains are allowed and they call scripts from yet other servers.

I use NoScript...

I tried that one some time ago. I couldn't get it to work with the www.AVSforum.com site. So, I dumped NoScript and have Disconnect along with ABP, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, and Malwarebytes - though this Beta Extension is pretty sad at the moment. I have to turn it off on a number of sites cawz it thinks the sites (I commonly use) have/may have Malware.

I guess the simplest way to handle this is to not let scripts run. I loaded the same page in Chrome which doesn't have the memory issue and the difference appears to be how FF handles interactive charts showing some basketball related stats from www.000webhost.com.

Yes, with the attention of looking at URL's and your providing mixed content it may be a issue. Also scripts are not really the way to go if there is less memory hogging ways of doing things.

Myself I do not have the alternative but know there is one.
