comcast e mail (use via Firefox) is slow!! can i convert to thunderbird e mail and still keep my current comcast e mail address?
My current system is old. windows Vista, 2007, serv pack 2, emachine desktop, T3646, AMD sempron LE1250, 2.2 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, 32 bit, 139 GB HD

Thunderbird is email client software. Comcast is an email provider. You need Comcast for email service. Enter your Comcast info into Thunderbird and you can check your mail. I doubt it will be any faster. Your computer is the slow component.
