This has been happenning for quite some time. Once I start the Firefox and in the first few minutes of browsing ( anything.... email, google etc etc. ) the window freezes ... actually the whole computer freezes for about 45 Secs. to 1 minute .... and then automatically comes on .... on the same page

Firefox starting up to a blank page instead of your home page was a problem in Firefox 44 if you had Firefox set to clear history when it closed and the process did not complete prior to Firefox actually shutting down. That particular bug was fixed in Firefox 45, if you are ready to update.

Now, the minute of freezing the computer might be related to that or it might be a different problem. Hard to say. It could be one of the many things that Firefox does in the background (for example: How to stop Firefox from making automatic connections).
