Why is there no option to change UI to allow classic type button control? New control is too spread out and fundamentially useless. HOW TO RESTORE CLASSIC UI?
Second time I have to ask this as some simple minded copy-paste moderator [the-edmeister] refused to answer this question and slammed the door shut on my question thread;
Why was this ever changed? Why was it changed without asking/polling? Why is it so spread out? Why would it be purposely made, to make it difficult to browse the web? Why would you sabotage your own product?! I am NOT the only person out here asking these same questions! I am NOT a conformist, I do NOT like having something taken from a product I use, I do NOT like not having the option to have it as it was, I do NOT like to search for the basic buttons of navigating, I do NOT like having to move my mouse from one end of the screen to the other, just to stop a page quickly [which cannot happen as it is too darn far away now!!!!] This has been driving me absolutely bat-shit for quiet a while now! There was "add-ons" to restore BASIC FUNCTION to a "ADVANCED" browser!!!! Sometimes upgrades are really downgrades. If it is so much better, and it has been repeatedly asked about, WHY WAS IT CHANGED WITHOUT ASKING THE USER or, THE COMMUNITY?? If it is SO great, WHY IS THERE OPTION TO EVEN CHANGE IT BACK INSTEAD OF FORCING IT DOWN THE VERY PEOPLE WHO SUPPORTED THIS PROGRAM!?
How do I get it back, There must be a way! Where is this option or setting?! Please do not make me have to change browsers again! I Joined Mozilla and supported and spread the word about mozilla for over a DECADE!
Are there any plugins that can change this?!
If this question has been "this topic has been covered repeatedly over the last 7 months - locking this thread as it doesn't contain any support questions" - the-edmeister Dec 7, 2014 2:11:14 PM
You sir are WRONG, DEAD WRONG! This question is loaded with questions! If this topic has been covered sooo many times by soo many SUPPORTERS OF FIREFOX, Where is the solution? Where is the awnser to ANY of our questions??? Why slam the door and lock it on SUPPORTERS?! I for one recommend a stronger hiring policy for moderators for Mozilla!
QUESTION OF THE DECADE: "Where did my buttons go, and WHY DID YOU TAKE THEM?!" For aesthetics? Screw that, give me FUNCTIONALITY! How can it be changed back!?

You can't expect to ask the opinion of the hundreds of millions Firefox users for each change in the user interface. That would require too many resources. You can look at development versions like the beta (35) and developer edition (36) and the Nightly build (37) and possibly bug reports (please do not comment in bugs to avoid bug spamming: sending unnecessary emails) if you want to see in what direction next versions will go. Then you can comment on changes that you aren't happy with via other channels. Once such changes land on the current release branch then it won't have effect.
There are usually ways via extensions and possibly code in userChrome.css to revert some changes. Discussions about why are not meant to be done on this forum. You can state what you do not like and ask if it is possible to change this to something else (i.e focus on the real problem and not on why it happened).
See also the Mozilla Developer website.
Many of us are using Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) {web link} Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).
This will restore many of the things the last upgrades took away.
These are not support questions. "Why was this ever changed?" "Why was it changed without asking/polling?" "Why is it so spread out?" "Why would it be purposely made, to make it difficult to browse the web?" "Why would you sabotage your own product?" We can't speak for Mozilla or provide answers for "why".
If you are unhappy with the changes in Firefox, especially changes that happened 5 versions ago in Firefox 29 (7 months ago), please submit Feedback to Mozilla here - https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback - and let the Mozilla staff know how you feel. The moderators and support contributors who answer questions here are all unpaid volunteers - and we have about as much to say about the changes to Firefox as you do.
Please read the forum rules and guidelines before continuing - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-rules-and-guidelines - especially not this - Do not harass, insult, taunt, provoke, demean, or personally attack other forum members. Be friendly even if others are not. Please focus on your specific issues with Firefox and ask how to "fix" them instead of being argumentative.
Long-winded excuses and attempted re-directions at the gist of the problem, How to get the BASIC navigation function buttons back.
I recently updated to this "modern" version, not everybody updates everytime "the newest model rolls out". Not everyone is an elitist.
I devoted a huge amount of time installing firefox on thousands of computers across 7 states, And guess what happens to the flagship you were so proud of? They sabotauge there own program, hide behind technicalities of everything from "which is the appropriate place" to "Do not harass, insult, taunt, provoke, demean or personally attack".
1. The help section is the right place, because I am seeking HELP 2. Quoting is not harassing, get over it. 3. It doesn't matter how dang long ago it was changed, and I am NOT the only one complaining and asking how to change this back. 4. Polling is easy, mandatory polling is even easier. Locked browser till awnsered. 5. Its easier to leave something be, then to change it. 6. Turning your back and even anger on a very long time supporter, Not wise, and immoral. 7. I would pay CASH to have it back, So would every FF user I still have contact with! 8. Time to start looking for a new browser.
Hi,
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.
You basically have only three choices here: 1. Revert to ver. 28 or earlier. They will tell you this is risky and it may be. 2. Live with the current Firefox browser and its new UI. 3. You also have the option to vote with your feet. There are a few browser choices available which are not Google or Microsoft.
I had the same issues but I was not bamboozled by an automatic update and was thus able to refuse to upgrade from ver 28. I had learned some time ago never to do automatic updates without checking into them first (this applies to all software, not just that from Mozilla).
I cannot speak for others, but my choice was the Pale Moon Browser. I have been extremely happy with it so far. I still keep a copy of FF 28 on my machine as a backup browser jik.
As for leaving feedback, be my guest, but I can assure you it will have absolutely 0 effect in this case.
NO I DO NOT HAVE OPTION 1 BECAUSE OF JAVA AND SWF WONT RUN ON OLDER VERSION 2 BECAUSE I CANNOT USE IT 3 I WOULD LOVE TO IF I COULD FIND A BROWSER THAT HAS A CLASSIC LAYOUT AND SUPPORTS SWF+JAVA - THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION!
I HAVE CARRIED MOZILLA'S WATER FOR OVER A DECADE, IN THE END I ENDED UP WITH A KNIFE IN MY BACK!
WHERE IS ANONYMOUS WHEN YOU TRULY NEED THEM!? - THEY ARE FAKE/STATE SPONSORED! OTHERWISE THIS WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN FIXED!
