I had to leave version 7.01 and return to version 3.6.23 because I could not use Bookmarks in 7.01. There is always a flicker in the 7.01 menus. This is a particularly bad problem in Bookmarks. When navigating a subfolder, the whole list goes blank as soon as the mouse is hovering over the list. This problem did not exist before version 7.

I'm guessing you mean from the bookmarks menu on the menu bar. If you see flickering and changes to row height and blacking out that is almost certainly do to a theme, or a style.

Safe Mode: bring up in safe mode one time, when you do so do not check-mark any of the items (they are certainly not safe). Help ("Alt+H") > "Restart with Add-ons disabled". If there is not problem then it is almost certainly an extension.

Help (Alt+H) --> Restart with Add-ons disabled (this is Firefox Safe Mode -- Fx4 has made this easier)

If that works try to find the addon(s) that causes the problem.

  1. Disable half of extensions and restart Firefox. At this point you are no longer in Safe Mode and are testing extensions.
  2. If problem still occurs disable half of remaining extensions;
    otherwise, if it works then enable half of those last disabled.
  3. Restart, and recheck at step 2

If that fails to isolate the problem reply back and if solved mark thread as solved and note the cause.
