Don't you just hate it when that happens   ?!
See if this will do the trick:
Type in the address bar:   about:config Then press   'Enter' (accept the warning to be carefull) Scroll down to   browser.places.SmartBookmarksVersion Then right-click   >   Reset
And now restart   Firefox.

If you have no add-ons or other customisations just do a Refresh

• Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
