in my currunt profile i have a places.sqiult.corrupt places file, with the 29th may date. but there is no corrupt form history file.can someone tell me how i can check what happened

why is there no history of my past seaches before may 30?there is no trace of history i did on my old computer also saved text.The profile name is the same.what happend

that might explian what happened, the corrupt files date is the 29th may its 24 mb and the place.squilt is 42 mb.but what about the seached text?is there a way i can open and see the contents.

The date created of the places file is 2011, also the date for the formhistory is 2011.THe formhistory file is bigger than my old computer then why are seached text and history missing.

Make sure that you look in the correct location for the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

this is my situation, i do the pc mover transfer.My firefox on my new computer has no history before may 30th also no saved text before that date (stuff i seached on old computer).Looking at my profile i can see that its the same name as the one on my old computer and that the formhistory data is larger than old computer.the creation date is 2011.Also i have a 24 mb corruopt placres file, and a 42 mb places file on this new computer.the date for the corrupt file is 29 may.I remember my old history bieng there intialy afater i first lounched firefox on this new computer.Does history and saved text get atuo deleted after time.What happened?

Ah, so I know sometimes cookies can expire, however for the way you are describing, you can check to see how far back the history goes in the new profile by opening History > Show All history.

There is a limit to the cache space by default. You can take a look at the defaults in about:config and searching for cache.

Saved form data expires after 180 days and that includes search text.

• browser.formfill.expire_days = 180

If you still have a copy of the folder with the history in it, if you change the default number of days to 690 (I think that is May 2011? may be more ) does the history show the old details?

However if they are not there, I am sorry they may have expired.

i did the transfer on 30th may 2013, what im trying to figure out is why my history on this computer only goes back to 30th may and not before.it seems like a succusesfull transfer as the profile is the same name and both the formhistory and places files are bigger than the one on my old computer also addons ect.what i want to know is why if i go to download history it only goes down to 30 may. does the history older than 6 months show all your history ever?also i remember after intitally lounching firefox on the new computer after the transfer the history of what i did on my old computer being there.stuff like searches and formdata text from old computer also are missing. passwords from old computer still here .what im thinking is whether the profile is progressing from the old computer.the files like formhistory are bigger so it seems like its progressing but where are all the saved text from the old computer then?

there is no trace of what i did on my old computer saved text wise and history wise also like colour changed links which i clicked on.an example is ecar, i have clicked on that site on my old computer but the link is not pink but blue as if i have not clicked on it also there is no trace of it in history and searches also the adressbar.is the older than 6 months indefinite showing all your history ever?the downloads history also goes down only to may 30.is my firefox history progressing from my old computer or was it reset.its using the same profile name, the formhistory files are bigger than the old computer file.whats going on.

Sorry for the delay. I would have to assume that they expired. Note that the places.sqlite file is storing the bookmarks and the history, so you can try the SQLite add on and take a look at the Profile db file from the previous computer to make sure. SQlite Manger
