Hello,

I have recently noticed that I am no longer able to move any tabs (reorder, move between windows) in Firefox. I cannot reorder tabs within a window, and once a tab is moved out of the window, it cannot be moved back in. I am currently on the latest version (106.0.2) and am very inconvenienced and looking for a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Thank you very much for your prompt response and for reminding me that I have a setting in userChrome.css to suppress the multi-tiered display of tabs.

- switch to the DEFAULT theme - tried before asking but no recovery. - Troubleshoot Mode -> recovered usual tab function (I could move tabs)

I'll check and try to fix userChrome.css later. If I can find something, I'd like to share here.

Warm regards, Jun

I apologize for forgetting my own environment customization on Firefox . Nevertheless, thanks to your professional and excellent advice, I was able to successfully fix the custom components including userChrome.css and solve the problem. (Now tabs can be controlled.)

In the future, I will remember that I have control over the userChrome.css and will make sure to verify and check carefully in any trouble. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for your very valuable advice.
