Being a simple private user, I'm not sure if I'm asking the question correctly. So, here's what I would like to do... TB has done a pretty good job of remembering the many emails I mark as junk on my current PC. But I will be installing TB on a new PC shortly, and was wondering if there was a simple way to move that "knowledge" to the new TB installation on the new PC w/o TB having to learn it all over again?

If you just want to transfer the junk controls, copy the training.dat file from the old profile folder to the new one.

It's possible to move the entire setup from one computer to another, although not as easy with the current version. On the new computer, install TB and run it once to create a profile folder, close TB, and empty the contents of the profile folder (not the folder itself), and copy in the contents of the profile folder from the old PC. This works best if both computers have the same version of TB.

Thank you, sfhowes That was what I wanted. I had to search for the training.dat file. It wasn't in the Mozilla or TB folders. I presume it is the one in the "C:\Users\{myname}\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\k9y2dw4z.default" folder? Is that the one? And is that k9y2dw4z.default folder the one I would move to complete the 2nd part of your reply?

Yes, that is the correct profile folder, also found by Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder.

Copy the contents of k9y2dw4z.default into the (emptied) profile folder (which has a different name) on the new computer.
