Bar below address says downlading the latest applications, why?

About 3 days ago, after I did a firefox update, a bar appear below the address bar stating "Downloading the latest applications" It has been there for 3 days, and I have left my internet on, and browser up hoping for it to go away. But it simply has sat there, even after refreshing my browser and uninstalling and reinstatement.

About 3 days ago, after I did a firefox update, a bar appear below the address bar stating "Downloading the latest applications" It has been there for 3 days, and I have left my internet on, and browser up hoping for it to go away. The "Downloading the latest applications" problem can be caused by the MSN® Toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)
