Hi, I received an email this morning supposedly from mozilla support which stated there was a reply to a question I posted here about 5 years ago. Not the kind of person to click links in emails I signed in directly to my Firefox account and searched for replies to my original question and did not see a reply from the poster who was mentioned the email. How can I determine if this email is actually from mozilla and if it is not what should I do with it? I did check my email using the Firefox Monitor and nothing showed up. Thank you.

Did it say what the question was? What is the link to that question?

Sorry, current forum security sometimes delays the posting of messages. And in turn, we are not notified of those posts.

Hi FredMcD. The article in question goes back to 2015 but I think I found it. Here is a link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox/discuss/6319 As you will see there has been no activity for 5 years and all of a sudden I get an email telling me there is. And the email contains a link to a site called "zealousgamers.com" and some poorly written message stating : {When i stuck during using Mozilla then I always read these articles .These articles helps me more for getting solution.} The word 'articles' is highlighted and is the link to zealousgamers.com The email looks to me like it comes from mozilla but who can be sure these days? I just want to report it if it is indeed a fraudulent email. Thanks

Hi jonzn4SUSE,

Not exactly. I have tried to attach an image of the body of the email to this reply. The part that says 'View this post on the site' when I hover over it it does seem to take you to mozilla support. But as I stated I do not follow links in emails unless I'm 100% sure of the sender and sometimes not even then. The fact I still don't see any reference to this reply from zealousgamers on this site makes me question its authenticity. Please let me know if you require further information. Thank you.

Yeah, it doesn't appear to be a big deal so just delete the email and get back to life.

In recent months, there was a severe spam/scam problem with the main "Questions" forum. With recent changes, so it's difficult now to generate notifications from threads such as this one. However, apparently it is still a problem in the articles discussion forum. They always find a way to peddle their wares...

It would also help if he provide a full screenshot so that we can see the entire email. The pic he sent definitely looks a little different. They could also right click on the link and copy the location and paste it.

Thank you jscher2000,

I would not have even brought this up if I had thought that the response to a question I posted over 5 years ago was relevant. The snip i included with the last post includes the entire body of the message. I will copy & paste the link as jozn4SUSE suggested.

link associated with the word 'articles' in message: https://zealousgamers.com/ link associated with 'view this post on the site' : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox/discuss/6319?utm_campaign=kbforums-post&utm_source=notification&utm_medium=email#post-20826

Is there another department in the Mozilla organization who might be interested in this matter?

Thanks again!
