Why is the Adobe Shockwave Flash Player is not working in my Firefox?
Windows 10 Pro X64, Adobe Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0 is not working in FireFox 47. But works fine in MS Edge. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling, NO Joy. I tried uninstalling & installing Flash 18, No Joy. This has been going on for a while, but Flash Player did work a month or so ago. Now it just hangs. Any clues as to why it isn't working?

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open the Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
On the left side of the page, select Plugins. Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.
Go to the web page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left click the icon. Select Permissions. In the menu, Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.
Thanks Fred, I do believe I read that advice before & I followed it to the letter.
As stated, I uninstalled & installed the earlier version having read someones advice.
I did install the plugin only, the file name was install_flash_player_18_plugin.exe which I got directly from the Adobe website. After install & reboot of the computer, there was still no change. It is still not working.
Later I updated again to 21.0.0.242 & still NO JOY. (file name: NPSWF32_21_0_0_242.dll)
As I stated earlier, the plugin work fine in MS Edge, the problem is in Firefox ONLY.
I tend to believe some setting got messed with by something.
Problem is not resolved.

Thanks Fred, it's probably a simple setting issue with Firefox, is it possible to chat with a Mozilla support person?

Hi,
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.
