When I "write", address book pops up Z thru A. I cannot change order thru "view" section. It appears that something changed overnight to totally mess up my address book file. How do I fix upside down address book when trying to "write new message"?

Just like ALL columns in Thunderbird you click on the Header to sort on that column. You click that same header a second time to reverse the sort order. Try clicking on NAME in the Contact Sidebar when the Write window is open.
