Please provide a screenshot of that message.

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

Bottom line is - Firefox doesn't ask - the default is to use Yahoo in the USA as of 34.0.5 unless the user had selected their own "default". The user can change to whatever they prefer as their default and it shouldn't get changed back to Yahoo unless the user does a "Refresh".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
