1) Is "Mysearchdial" part of your system, or have I been hijacked? 2)Why doesn't Firefox open on the local website that I have set as my homepage several times? 3) Why aren't popups blocked on the same websites that Internet Explorer blocked popups on my old PC?

New PC has Win8.

hello alicemorrow, this adware is certainly not something that is coming from mozilla. please try these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
