Notification bar with "options" has disappeared and whatever is tried I cannot find how to get this back.
My wife's computer suddenly lost the yellow "Notification bar" with options about accessing remote items. I have tried for quite a few hours to get this back and have uninstalled Thunderbird at least twice and then re-installed ir but cannot get the notification bar to show. Separately I loaded Thunderbird for her on my desktop computer and it is working properly (but I need that machine for myself!) and I just cannot find any settings or help to solve the issue. Many thanks for getting this sorted.

I think you're referring to settings>privacy&security and the 'allow remote content' settings,
David, thank you but not the answer as I tried absolutely everything and everywhere.
In the meantime, my son has visited today and had a quick look and has given me an easy answer.
In the "view" on a menu (possibly windows?) section it gives three options for viewing an email. One is "HTML" the next is "simple" and the third is "text".
When he changed the choice to HTML we got the notification bar and "option" back on thunderbird. This is not something that I would ever have tried and if anybody else has the same problem it is worth noting.
I am not sure how the setting got changed in the first place -possible some update - very unlikely that my wife would have done this even by accident.
Thank you again for such a prompt response.
Regards,
Ron
Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind if a similar question is posted. :)
