I'm trying to port the "Crunchyroll Full Screen, All The Time" Chrome addon, but I can't figure out how to get it to work.

(Chrome Addon https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/crunchyroll-full-screen-a/aebamgnddkjifkidngamjohhgkfholmj) I have the code off of the Chrome Web Store (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1M0PP8038FtWgMmif9OzP0r4sCbA8VrNK). I put in the manifest.json or content.js in the debug menu as a temporary addon, and it get's the menu, but not the actual function of the addon. Please help.

Edit: I have tried using the zip instead of the .json or .js mentioned above as well. It still didn't work.

(Folder contains the .crx and .zip https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Xpwx6z46rrR4vcK4imxDsFDYgHZ9gsLA?usp=sharing) Both the crx and zip come up with no problems on the website, but using the temporary addon it doesn't work. It shows up in the top right, and it opens like it does in Chrome, but the "Toggle binge mode" button does nothing.

Okay, now how exactly would I edit the manifest.json file? Do I need an external tool? Also, what is the "addon@example.com" mentioned on that site?

You need just any good text editor, like Notepad++.

It's ID. The extension ID must be one of the following:

  • GUID
  • A string formatted like an email address: extensionname@example.org

The latter format is easier to generate and manipulate. Be aware that using a real email address here may attract spam.

For example:

  • "id": "extensionname@example.org"
  • "id": "{daf44bf7-a45e-4450-979c-91cf07434c3d}"
