Firefox has been reloaded and listed as allowed program on Windows Firewall. The above message always comes on when Firefox is opened. All other pages work on Firefox if typed in and Internet Explorer works. How do I clear this server notice please ?

Hmm, Microsoft has been transitioning users to a new set of servers for Outlook.com email. Could you try the following link and see whether it works:

https://outlook.live.com/

You can try flushing your DNS cache, which will force your computer to recalculate all of your URLs. To do this, please try opening the Windows command prompt in administrator mode and enter ipconfig /flushdns. You can then close the command prompt and restart your system.

Oh wait, maybe the problem is one of the following:

  • desktop shortcut has that page added -- if this only occurs when you use the shortcut and not when you launch a new window using Ctrl+n -- steps to clean it to be provided if needed
  • an add-on such as as email notifier is trying to access your mailbox at startup even if you aren't planning to view that page right away -- you can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a), or
    • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons -- in the left column, click Extensions, look for anything email related, click its Options button
