I'm trying to apply for financial aid for college... the Fafsa.ed.gov website that I NEED to use to get to college. It loads the homepage of the site but when I click the "get started" button it comes up with an error saying I'm using an incompatible browser, it claims that updating to the latest version should fix the problem. I've upgraded firefox and the site still says it can't load. Am I missing a step in the setup for an upgrade? I ran the program and then restarted firefox when prompted.

According to https://fafsa.ed.gov/FAFSA/app/errors?page=incompatibleBrowser they do not yet support the new Firefox versions. Unfortunately you either need to use an old version of Firefox (3.6.23), or a different browser.

Your tax dollars at work ;-)

Install Firefox Portable Edition 3.6.23 to your hard drive to use at that FAFSA website. The Portable version won't affect your Firefox 7.0.1 installation at all.
