You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

• switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
• do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

My search browser is set for google but it keeps searching under bing. I have checked the settings and everything is set to google. Is anyone else having this issue? Please help me fix it?

and a simpler solution could be dragging your favorite 'search browser' to your active desktop, not the same, but its effective though
