Missing Tags from Bookmarks Menu
I previously reported this issue and never got a response, despite the fact that I provided my contact information. This feedback has nothing to do with any particular website. It has to do with the failure of Firefox to retain the Tags assigned to certain links. I will regularly return to a listing of the Tags and links described within with assigned properties. I have about ten categories of Tags, and frequently some of the Tags will have disappeared from the list. Remembering what links were assigned Tags I can go to that Bookmark using the Go Parent Folder Add-on, list the Properties of one of the links assigned a Tag and delete the Tag, saving the result. Then I turn around and assign the same Tag again. All other links that have that particular Tag will then be listed for that Tag, whereas previously they were inaccessible. The "shortcuts" for that Tag are again listed. A previous comment on the "Firefox Makes Me Sad" went unanswered with this same issue. This has worked properly in the past when using Windows 8.0, 8.1, so maybe this is a Windows 10.0 issue.
Ignoring this feedback will eventually drive away many users to better browser applications.
Some of this feedback is a bit confidential, since I am sharing my email address, but I hope the above is sufficient to have those who do the coding within Firefox to take a look and see what is not functioning properly.

How can it be that I'm the only one with this problem? Is it because so few use Tags to locate their Bookmarks? That means to me that most are not taking full advantage of what Firefox offers them. They are unaware of the wide range of their interests can become their personal library on Firefox.
But if their is a problem with Tags that destroys the opportunity at the outset. Fortunately I found a work-a-round. Tag disappearance has only been a problem recently. I do have an enormous number of Bookmarks, which means that the Tag for a Bookmark must be presented in order to find the Bookmark. The hardware is capable of doing this, so I can only conclude that the software (Firefox) is not. I'm sure others have this issue and are just saying to themselves, I have other non-Firefox alternatives that work for me. Why should I hunt down answers for Firefox?
Could you describe where the tags are disappearing from? You say when you open the bookmark properties, the tags actually are there, and removing and re-adding them makes them show up wherever they were not showing up. Where were they not showing up?
I also suggest making an extra safety backup and export of your bookmarks, and using an extension which runs maintenance tasks on the places.sqlite database (which stores your bookmarks and history) in case this is a sign of incipient corruption.
- Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer - make sure the file is a significant size since you have a lot of bookmarks
- Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks - this format does NOT preserve tags, but would be a fallback if all else fails
